JustBeginning is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com.
When you click an Amazon link on this site and make a qualifying purchase, we earn a small commission at no additional cost to you. The commission comes from Amazon, not from any markup on what you pay.
Editorial independence
Our product recommendations are editorially independent of the affiliate revenue they generate. We choose which products to recommend based on whether they are genuinely the right answer for a beginner — not based on which products earn the highest commission.
Different products on Amazon pay different commission rates. We do not let those rates influence our recommendations.
What we don't do
- We do not accept payment from manufacturers, brands, or retailers in exchange for inclusion in our guides.
- We do not accept free product samples in exchange for coverage. If this ever changes, we will disclose it clearly on the affected guide.
- We do not write sponsored posts. Every recommendation on this site is ours, made independently.
Pricing and availability
Prices and availability on Amazon change continuously. We use price tiers (e.g. $, $$) rather than exact dollar amounts on our guides because exact prices go stale within days. Always check the actual Amazon listing for the current price before purchasing.
Other affiliate programs
At present, JustBeginning participates in Amazon Associates only. If we join other affiliate programs in the future (REI, Backcountry, etc.), we will update this disclosure and clearly mark which links go to which partners.
